Art for a Cause: An Artistic Journey to Support Animal Rescues
Las Vegas, August 2, 2024 – Collage to the Rescue has been officially released, offering readers a unique collection of dog-themed collages created by 44 extraordinary artists from around the globe. Curated by mixed-media artist and author Wendy Tigerman, this book not only celebrates the beauty and joy that rescue dogs bring into our lives but also gives back to the animal rescue community in a significant way.
Collage to the Rescue honors the transformative work of rescue organizations, much like how collage artists create striking images from discarded materials. The book’s mission is twofold: to showcase breathtaking works of art while contributing to the vital efforts of non-profit organizations dedicated to rescuing and rehoming animals.
50% of the profits from Collage to the Rescue will be donated to non-profit rescue organizations, including SPCA, Best Friends Animal Society, and Pet Orphans of Southern California. Additionally, 25% of the profits will be allocated to the talented contributing artists, and the remaining 25% will support Wendy Tigerman, the visionary behind this heartfelt project.
“We dedicate this book to all the hurt, scared, and abandoned animals waiting to be rescued. Each one of them deserves love and a second chance,” said Tigerman. “We also want to honor everyone who has already given and received so much love by rescuing these incredible pups.”
The artists featured in Collage to the Rescue are masters of transformation, much like the rescue organizations they support. Each artist turns everyday materials—papers, objects, and ephemera—into poignant, visually stunning images of dogs, reminding us of the beauty that can emerge from what others might see as unwanted.
The book is not only filled with beautiful art but also offers readers the opportunity to connect directly with the artists. Whether they wish to purchase art or explore other works, readers are encouraged to reach out to the artists behind these creations.
The need for animal rescue is vast and ongoing. Whether it’s due to abandonment, neglect, or other circumstances, thousands of animals need new homes each year. The organizations benefiting from Collage to the Rescue work tirelessly to rescue and rehome not only dogs but also cats, horses, cows, goats, and even wild animals. Every act of kindness in adopting or supporting these animals is repaid a thousand times over in loyalty and love.
